Sports has always been an integral part of Uttar Pradesh’s culture and important aspect of life such that we could say that Uttar Pradesh has a rich sports heritage like its cultural heritage from where various new sports persons of different sports have emerged out excellently and has resulted in glory of the State in realms of sports. Thus, to grow and encourage promising talent in Uttar Pradesh, A Sports Department has been setup by Government of Uttar Pradesh that solely works to bring about qualitative improvement in the performance of sports persons by offering all the essential facilities and opportunities needed by promising sports persons to excel in their respective sports field.

Indeed, Sports Department is fully dedicated in supporting emerging sports persons in refining their skills by utilizing various infrastructural features supplied by the department like stadiums, multi-purpose sports complexes, swimming pools, badminton, tennis and volleyball courts, gymnasium halls, fields for games like hockey and football, athletics tracks and many more.
