College staff

For imparting sports training to the students, well trained and experienced teachers/assistant teacher from National Institute of Sports (NIS) are posted in the sport colleges. Like wise to impart education from class 6 to 12, trained and experienced teachers from education department are posted in these colleges either on permanent basis or on deputation. For better looking after of the boys and girl students, medical officer and warden are available in the colleges. ।

Sports Training Management:-

  • Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow:  In Guru Gobind Singh Sports College Lucknow, training is imparted in Athletics, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Volleyball and Badminton by trained and experienced sports teachers/assistant teachers of National Institute of Sports (NIS) for boys only.
  • Veer Bahadur Singh Sports College, Gorakhpur:  In Veer Bahadur Singh Sports College Gorakhpur, training is imparted in Wrestling, Gymnastic and Volleyball (Boys/Girls) and Hockey (only girls) by trained and experienced sports teachers/assistant teachers of National Institute of Sports (NIS).
  • Major Dhyanchand Sports College, Saifai: In Major Dhyanchand Sports College Saifai, training is imparted in Athletics, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Wrestling, Kabaddi and swimming (only boys), Badminton (Boys/Girls) and Judo (only girls).  Sports training is available in this college in total 09 sports by trained and experienced sports teachers/assistant teachers of National Institute of Sports (NIS).

Sports evaluation –

Evaluation of sports skill of boys/girls will be conducted thrice a year. Regular improvement will be expected on the basis of statistics of first evaluation level.

Academic Abstraction-

All the students have to pass in their classes each year for promotion to next. If any student fails in any class between classes 6 to 11, then she/he will be provided with one chance to readmit in the same class either on participating/winning medal in the concerned sport at National/International level.

Progress Card

Progress and all the activities done by the student during a complete session is communicated to the parents/guardian through a progress card. In this progress card, complete evaluation of education and sports of concerned student is mentioned.

Leaving the college by student or dismissal

This is mandatory for the guardian to provide one month notice prior of commencement of next session for removal of student from the college. In this case, complete security money deposited, can be forfeited. Apart, the amount which was spent on the training and education of the student can be fully recovered. In the interest of college and student, Principal can dismiss any student on the following grounds and in this condition, full recovery can be made for complete expenses made on student:-

  • If the students do not participate at the national level in their respective sports, initiative of their dismissal will be made by college administration.
  • If any students overrule the discipline of college or her/his behaviour is found indecent with colleagues and staffs, in this condition Principal will be fully authorise to dismiss concerned student from the college.
  • If a student gets absent from college without prior permission, the guardian will be sole responsible for this act and college administration may lead for dismissal of the student in this case.
  • If a student doesn't possess the specified standards in sports and class progression.
  • Because of all the reasons which are mentioned in Uttar Pradesh Education Code

Re-admission

Under the following conditions only, chance for re-admission will be provided to the students if they gets fail in any of the class in the education/sports :-

  • If a student fails in class-6, she/he can get chance of re-admission only on the possibility of emerging as judged by evaluation committee.
  • In case the student gets fail in any class from 7th to 11th, she/he will be straightway dismissed from college. If such student has participated in the concerned sport at national level, she/he will be given one chance of re-admission in the same class.
  • If a student has secured 70% or more marks during the same academic year and failed in annual sports evaluation, her/his re-admission will be considered only if the student displayed high level of discipline.
  • During entire period in the college from class 6 to 11, only one chance will be awarded for readmission for any class. 

Vacation in college

Following holidays will be observed during college session :-

  • Summer vacations from 21st May to 30th June
  • Sub session/special vacation

The above mentioned vacations will be decided by the Principal. Students will have the permission to visit their homes only during summer vacation and sub session vacation. In this duration, some camps of education and sports may be organized for the students. Students are provided vacation other than the declared one, only in special circumstances. Student will have to report in college on very first day after their vacations are over. If any justified and unavoidable reason is not produced, absence of the student will be considered as leave without permission and dismissal action will be initiated against the defaulter.
